WHAT

A rare opportunity has arisen within Dickie Direct for a motivated and driven professional to join the sales team in the Area Manager – Wairarapa/Tararua role.

To continue to build on and expand an already well-established portfolio, the role is based in the Wairarapa providing the ability to service farmers across the Wairarapa and Tararua regions. The business has been successfully growing and is currently primed for a rapid growth stage, making it an exciting time to join the crew.

The Wairarapa/Tararua Area Manager will manage and continue to grow the Dickie Direct client base in the region. With a strong existing client base, you will be provided with an excellent platform to grow from. You will be using Dickie Directs range of both conventional and specialty fertilizer’s delivered through a direct to farm/drop point model to ensure farmers in the region drive better on farm results.

We want to hear from you if you have an understanding of and commitment to New Zealand’s Agri-sector and farming practices along with excellent communication skills, and the ability to connect and build rapport with a wide range of people. And of course, it goes without saying you’ll also bring a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, with excellent time management and organisational skills. In addition to ticking the above boxes you’ll slot seamlessly into the team, be a down-to-earth good sort, and have a solutions-focused perspective.

The below are also key to success in this role:
  • Proven sales experience.

  • A successful track record in customer relationship management.

  • Sound numerical skills and ability to provide quotes and take orders.

  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure, with the ability to solve problems and implement solutions.

  • Computer literacy across the Microsoft Office suite is a requirement - experience using CRM would be advantageous but not essential.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification desirable but not essential.

  • Full New Zealand Driver’s Licence.
