Farm Manager - Drive Innovation and Lead at Arkley Farm

Arkley Farm is a story of growth and innovation, owned by Pete and Esther Gardyne, the Farm continues to benefit from its strong foundations of family values, improvement mindset, a strong can-do attitude and dedication to forward-thinking and progressive farming.

In less than ten years, Arkley farm has grown from one farm, 2,600 sheep & 50 cattle run by Pete and Esther to three farms, a team of 6, 7,500 ewes, 2,200 hogget’s, a well reputed sheep stud, 300 cattle and a high producing cropping operation.

The Farm Manager role is integral for Arkley Farm, in line with the business’s ethos of progression and pathway, this opportunity will see you with directly responsibility for one farm, managing people in your immediate and wider team and overseeing the livestock and pasture performance across the business. Rest assured, with the tools at your finger tips and the opportunity to drive performance through a whole of business approach, this role is both challenging and rewarding.

To be successful in the Farm Manager Role, you’ll bring a number of great qualities, including:

• Leadership experience with an understanding of how to get the best out of yourself, your team and know that communication & collaboration with will be key to success.
  
  
• Knowledge of farms systems, effective stock and pasture management, attention to detail when dealing with animal health and the ability to fully utilise the resources and infrastructure available to you and your team.
  
  
• Knowing the value of measuring, managing, collecting and reporting the critical data that links to farm performance along with high attention to detail and competency in farm technology.
  
  
• Having held experience in a similar role for 2-3 years with a team of dogs that will get the job done.

You will be supported by a wider team, the business owners, their knowledge, their guidance and well-established systems and processes.
