WHERE
Ballance Agri-Nutrients are searching for a Nutrient Specialist (Sales Rep) to join the East Coast Team in the beautiful Gisborne region!
 
The territory spans from Hicks Bay to Putorino and applications are welcome from forward-thinking passionate people who want to assist farmers in making sustainable strategic decisions to cultivate the best soil and produce the finest food and fibre on earth.
 
 
WHAT
The Nutrient Specialist role would suit an already established agribusiness sales and technical specialist or if you’re an extroverted farmer/agriculture professional, and keen to expand your career this is the role for you.
 
We aim to provide stability with our service provision to our farmers, so we’d love you to stay with us, develop your career and make Ballance Agri-Nutrients your long-term career-home. As a Nutrient Specialist there’s no need to be a science expert; understanding the unique role of our farmers is key.
 
We’ll provide you with the training and support you need to be a success; you just need a passion for the industry and strong networks within your rural district.

In this role, you will be able to:
  • Build relationships to know your customers and understand their needs.
  • Prioritise growth opportunities with passion.
  • Develop, implement, and drive nutrient strategies (we’ll help you with this).
  • Deliver a 5-star customer experience.

WHO
We're seeking a people person who is a ‘go-getter’ with a knack for building trust-based relationships. You’ll get a kick out of seeing increased levels of production and profit, and your farmers will love you for it!
 
You’ll be a local to the Gisborne region with strong rural networks and an understanding of ‘the lay of the land’, or you may be considering returning to the area and re-establishing yourself within the community.
 
To be successful in the role you will have:
  • A good understanding of what farmers need from you in the role of Nutrient Specialist.
  • Confidence in data analysis, computer, and problem-solving skills.
  • Full clean driver’s license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to connect with and understand farmers.
  • Determination to help Ballance and their customers achieve their goals.
  • Drive to acquire new business and grow the Gisborne portfolio.
  • Farming experience, with a particular emphasis on understanding sheep and beef systems.
  • A passion for the Gisborne community and everything it has to offer.
