Rimanui Farms Limited is a large-scale farming business with sheep and beef operations across the North Island and dairy farms in the South Island. The farms have been extensively developed and are managed by a team of high performing Farm Managers, with a focus on four key areas: supporting staff development, maximising financial performance, protecting the environment, and developing farms to their full potential.

Springvale Station is a standout property comprising 2,800 hectares of hill country set against the stunning backdrop of the Rangitikei River northeast of Taihape. Running 30,000 stock units, the stocking policy includes 14,000 ewes, 4,500 hoggets, and 1,000 Angus cows. This is a well-developed breeding and finishing operation with strong performance, scale, and potential for further growth.
WHAT
Springvale Station is presenting a highly anticipated opportunity for an experienced Farm Manager to step in and lead the station into its next chapter. With a remarkable legacy of land stewardship, sustainable practices and consistent profitability the current Farm Manager of 30 years has confirmed his departure at the end of the year.
Working closely with the Business Manager, the new Farm Manager will develop and implement both physical and financial farm plans, while maintaining the property’s high standards of performance and sustainability.
The appointee to the role will be responsible for the full day-to-day operations of Springvale Station. This includes livestock and pasture performance, managing infrastructure and farm development projects whist implementing effective financial strategies such as budgeting, forecasting.
The role also involves leading and mentoring staff, fostering a positive workplace culture, maintaining compliance with health and safety and environmental regulations, and producing accurate reports to guide management decisions. WHO
Our client is looking for a Farm Manager with strong leadership skills, practical farm management experience, and a genuine passion for sustainable land stewardship. The below are also key to success in this role:
- 10 or more years’ experience in livestock roles at large scale.
- 5 or more years’ experience in farm manager positions.
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and/or completion of relevant Primary ITO courses (up to level 5).
- FARMAX Red Meat bronze accreditation or higher (preferred).
- Animal welfare focused and a working team of 5 dogs.
- Positive, motivated, and personal growth oriented.
- Hardworking, punctual, and physically capable.
- Takes pride in high-quality, tidy work.
- Accurate, organised, and follows instructions.
- Strong communicator and work well within a corporate structure.
- Proactive and uses initiative.
- Effective planner and record-keeper.
- Comfortable with challenges and new ideas.
- Energetic, progressive and technically competent.
- Accomplished leader and passionate about industry leadership.
