Your Future Workplace
Ziwotto Farms Ltd is a 1,280 ha privately owned sheep and beef breeding and finishing farm between Port Waikato and Raglan. The property, Kokonga, features 160 ha of native bush, rolling to steeper hill country, and outstanding coastal views. Running around 3,500 Romney ewes and 1,000 Angus cattle, the farm is efficiently managed with modern infrastructure, including two woolsheds and new yards due in 2026. With ongoing reinvestment and a focus on trophy-farm standards, Kokonga operates to a high level of tidiness and efficiency.


Your Role
The General Hand role is a hands-on position focused on the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of farm infrastructure, machinery, and water systems. Responsibilities include fencing repairs, monitoring and repairing pumps or leaks, operating tractors and farm equipment, and assisting with weed, pest, and livestock management.

Working as part of a small, close-knit team alongside the Farm Manager, this role requires someone with previous sheep and beef farming experience who is confident across a range of practical farm tasks. It is well suited to a dependable, practical person who takes pride in high-quality work and enjoys being involved in the day-to-day running of a well-managed farming operation.

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

  • Strong practical farming skills, including fencing (conventional 7-wire), water systems, and general farm maintenance.
  • Competence operating tractors and farm machinery.
  • Previous sheep and beef farming experience with good livestock knowledge.
  • Experience with weed and pest control.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach.
  • Good organisational and self-time management skills.
  • A proactive, reliable person with strong problem-solving ability.
